Caring for Sacred Spaces
A presentation by Andrew Rudin of Interfaith Coalition on Energy
Trinity Episcopal Church
Monday May 5th
1:30-4:00 p.m.
120 Sigourney Street
Hartford, CT 0610
This program is offered as a public service to our constituency, faith based organizations, by the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network. Congregational buildings can have unique and challenging features, such as huge halls, high ceilings, varying occupancy patterns, and older energy systems. Faith based communities can have a "creation care" theology - a commitment to running our practical affairs in accordance with our spiritual principles. This program will help us be as faithful, efficient and economical as possible in our building management practices.

Our speaker, Andrew Rudin is an experienced and organized presenter who will go step by step through the issues relevant for congregational settings. His four part program includes sections on conservation, efficiency, "green" (renewable, non-polluting) electricity, and good educated consumer practices. Participants are asked to bring sample utility bills so we can be more informed about getting the most for our energy expenditures. Local experts on conservation and energy systems will be on hand, exhibiting at the event.

The program is open to anyone in faith based organizations that has concern and responsibility for good stewardship of our buildings, and our energy and economic resources. The appropriate person in a given community might be a business manager, a custodian, a member of the community's governing board or staff. Please assure that your congregation is represented!

Light refreshments will be provided. There is no fee. Reservations are encouraged. Please respond to Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener at Interreligious Eco-Justice Network 860-493-0696, or andrea@irejn.org
