Earth Ministry Leadership Team Retreat
July 29, 2003
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
RSVP Friday 7/18/03 info@irejn.org
I am happy to confirm our
gathering of lay and clergy leaders/learners to a day of reflection
at Mercy Center in Madison, Connecticut.
We'll have some reflection time at
the Center, which boasts a beachfront and a labyrinth. Mercy Center
runs a full summer silent retreat program, so we'll need to/be able
to maintain silence in the outdoor spaces as we enjoy the morning.
The other activities for the day include
lunch. Networking and a visioning conversation based on the World Watch
Institute paper, Invoking the Spirit.
Invoking the Spirit offers five arenas
that collectively constitute the unique religious connection to environmental
work: cosmology, moral voice, human resources, communal connectivity
and material resources. In our process, we'll be exploring our understanding,
our strengths and needs in these areas.
IREJN will pay the fee to
Mercy Center. Your hospitality fee of $25 can be sent or otherwise delivered
to IREJN (address below) or simply give it to me that day. I need to
give a final count on June 19th and registration is still open.
Arrangements have been made
to cover for any colleagues that need to pay a lesser fee.
