SUMMARY:Learn how to Organize an Electric Vehicle Event in Your Community
DESCRIPTION:In Connecticut\, transportation accounts for 40% of greenhouse
gas emissions and contributes to health harming air pollution. Transitioni
ng to zero-emitting electric vehicles dramatically cuts transportation’s
health impacts and is a necessary strategy to protect our climate and the
  well-being of our communities.\nOn Thursday\, June 6 from 5-6 pm\, pleas
e join us for an online meeting to discuss the importance of Electric Vehi
cle events as an education tool and learn how to organize an Electric Vehi
cle event in your community.  Electric vehicle events help to raise awar
eness of the many benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid cars\, truck
s\, motorcycles\, and previous Connecticut events have featured buses\, bi
kes\, scooters\, and lawn equipment. At these events electric vehicle owne
rs bring their vehicles\, answer questions and share experiences with atte
ndees. It’s a great way to help others understand the benefits of electr
ic vehicles. (For communities seeking Sustainable Connecticut certificati
on\, an electric vehicle event can earn 5 points.)\nWe’ll hear from prev
ious organizers about how to organize an event in your community\, or help
with an existing event. Our guest panelists have planned and attended num
 erous electric vehicle events—small and large—as pop-up events\, part
of community sustainability fairs\, National Drive Electric Week (this yea
r September 27 to October 6\, 2024)\, and more. Panelists include: Jeff Gr
oss and Beva Nall-Langdon\, chair and member of Sierra Club Connecticut
’s Clean Transportation Committee\; Barry Kresch\, president of the EV
Club of Connecticut\; Daphne Dixon\, Executive Director and Co-founder\,
Live Green CT\; and Mary Hogue\, Sustainable Fairfield.\nAnyone can organi
ze an Electric Vehicle event\, including you! Join us to learn more\, and
  get involved.
