Thanks to generous support from the Hampshire Foundation, the Community Foundation of Eastern CT, and our wonderful donors, IREJN is excited to offer another round of grant opportunities for houses worship to implement energy efficiency and clean energy measures, and install or expand pollinator and vegetable gardens. Grants are accepted on a rolling basis and will be administered until the funds are exhausted.
IREJN Energy Efficiency Small Grant
IREJN will award a total of fifteen $1,000 grants to fifteen houses of worship. Ten of the grants can be applied statewide, five of the grants must be used in the service area for the Community Foundation of Eastern CT. (Service towns listed below.)

Lynn Johnson Memorial Garden Fund
IREJN will award grants for vegetable gardens and or pollinator gardens. The maximum grant for vegetable gardens is $1,000; the maximum grant for pollinator gardens is $250.

Home Weatherization Challenge Grant
IREJN will award ten $1,000 grants to houses of worship who successfully engage 25% of their congregation to complete a Home Energy Solutions or Home Energy Solutions – Income Eligible energy assessment. Five grants can be awarded statewide; five grants must be awarded at houses of worship in the service area for the Community Foundation of Eastern CT.
