Rev. Dr. Albert Bailey, Jr

Rev. Dr. Albert Bailey, Jr. was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  He is a product of Detroit Public Schools, and a proud graduate of Wilberforce University.  Rev. Bailey, Jr. understands the importance of faith, family and community; heceived his Master of Divinity degree and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Payne Theological Seminary in Ohio. Rev. Bailey received his degree in Prophetic Preaching and Practice and titled his project “From Monument Back into Movement: Reengaging the Black Church with It’s Community.”  He was licensed to preach and ordained at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan.  

For the past 17 years, he has worked in the educational field as a teacher, contractor, intervention specialist and community advocate and has a wealth of experience in community development, fundraising and activism through working with agencies that deal with individuals experiencing homelessness and other groups looking to invest in urban communities.   He is the senior pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church, Hartford’s fourth oldest Black church, one that has been a beacon of hope to the community for almost 150 years.
